Over five hundred members of the European University Cyprus & Cyprus College Alumni Association attended a brilliant and very moving event on 24 January 2018, where the Alumni Association awarded members who have distinguished themselves in their professional career and ethos.
The Alumni Association acknowledged and rewarded the achievements of four alumni and used the occasion to announce a € 20,000 grant to a newcomer from the Alumni Scholarship Fund, which was courteously granted to the Association from European University Cyprus.
· The "Graduate of the Year" Award was awarded to Mr. Marios Stavrou, the founder of the non-governmental organization REACTION, with offices in 22 countries that specializes in 12 fields of activity related to youth education.
· The "Graduate Business of the Year" Award was awarded to POWERSOFT Software Innovation Architect and Managing Director, Mr. George Malekkos.
· The Entrepreneurship and Innovation Award was awarded to Mr. Dino Pastos, Information Security Officer at CopyDo Social Investment Network Ltd.
· The "Women's Professional Excellence Award" was awarded to the soprano artist Mariza Anastasiades for her artistic career and her successful participation in international performances and competitions.
In his speech, the President of the Association, Mr. Yiannos Spyros, announced that the Association is in the final stage of creating a fully updated Business Directory which will help dynamic networking among Alumni with the ultimate aim of mutual support and enlarge engagement. Mr. Spyrou thanked European University Cyprus, Microsoft, Sigma Group and FF Group of Companies for their active and continued support to the Alumni Association.
The Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors of European University Cyprus, Dr. Christoforos Hadjikyprianou, thanked the Association for its active work and expressed his deep pride for the successes and achievements of the alumni.
